WHO: Grace Lutheran Members, Family, and Friends!
WHAT: The Grace Lutheran Luther500 Festival is a great mix of pilgrimage, touring, worship, learning, and service opportunities. This link will send you to their main site. Keep in mind that we have our own exclusive festival with them (note our dates on this page). ALSO, check out the video to the right! http://www.luther500festival.com
WHY: 2017 is the 500th Anniversary of the Protestant Reformation kicked off by the nailing of 95 These to the Castle Church door in Wittenberg, Germany by Martin Luther. We are anticipating bringing 150 people through Grace Lutheran of Palo Alto to Wittenberg. We will be staying at the Hostel attached to the Castle Church (which will be entirely ours!) for a Festival that is definitely NOT a simple tour, but more like a pilgrimage. Your faith will be deepened, and relationships built. DO NOT MISS this once in a lifetime opportunity!
WHEN: July 18-25, 2017
WHERE: Germany! Wittenberg, where Luther primarily lived, taught, and preached is about 70 miles SW of Berlin. From there, the remaining Luther sites like Eisleben where he was born and died, Erfurt where he studied as an Augustinian monk, and The Wartburg Castle where he was in hiding for a time are West and South.

A 2-Minute Overview
For a previous festival, but still accurate.
Our Accommodations: The Jugendherberge
We have secured the entire hostel adjacent to the Castle Church where Luther nailed the 95 Theses for our own use! It is recently remodeled with private baths in every room. There are public spaces for our use including ping pong tables and even the Lutherkeller, a medieval cellar under the hostel for our evening fellowship. We will also be using some local hotels for 2 and 1 person options.
