High School Ministry @ Grace

The foundation of our HS Ministry is our weekly Youth Group that takes place year round. It nurtures faith, builds resilience, and forms well-rounded young people ready for the challenges of this life. We take time to check in with one another, prayer, laugh, play and provide space to breathe, when school and activities are overwhelming.

Wednesdays Year Round

Nearly every single Wednesday of the year, we gather in the Youth Room.
Every week is different but we always take time to connect with each other, pray for each other and remind each other that we are loved and always belong to this community and are surrounded by love and support.
In addition to weekly Youth Group, we also have weekly Sunday school time, youth gathering in the Youth Room to talk about a bible lesson and to strengthen their faith. We love connecting youth to various caring adults in the congregation who help, support and guild youth through the many challenges of life!

Every summer we take a High School Youth Trip, we are on a 3 year rotation.

ELCA Youth Gathering- The gathering of our entire denomination, in a different city every 3 years, a chance to grow in faith and hear incredible speakers from many walks of life, to wrestle with questions about your faith as well as experience the enormity of our church with over 30,000 high school youth!! 
Western States Youth Gathering- Held at California Lutheran University, this is a smaller regional gathering with churches from the west, 500-1000 youth gathering in a college setting to stay in dorms and experience “college life’ on a small scale. Wonderful speakers, worship and nightlife all while making new friends and building relationships with your church.
Service Adventure Trip- We have the last few years taken this trip to Flathead Lutheran Bible Camp in Montana, we fly and take the train, we camp, we swim the lake, we get to disconnect from technology and cell phones for week which enjoying the simplicity of life at camp! We get to be kids again for a little while. Lakeside campfires and lots of opportunities to learn and serve!
We also have HS retreats at our local camp in the Santa Cruz Mountains, Mt Cross Lutheran Camp.
